Kissing Games are a great way to get the happy couple to kiss! Try your hand at “Plinko and Kiss” - a great classic! When it's time for you to kiss each other, you must stand up. No sitting. No little pecks. No rolling eyes. Make it look like you're enjoying yourselves and the company of your guests. Okay, let the games begin....
CLASSIC KISSING GAME IDEAS
CLINKING GLASSES
If you're not into games and want to keep it simple and easy, stick with tradition. Your guests will only clink their glasses 4 or 5 times maximum.
CHARITABLE DONATION
Pick a charity that has special meaning to you, put a donation can on the head table. Your guests will have to pay if they want to see you kiss. One idea is, for every $1 given to charity you will kiss for 1 second
COPY CAT
Couples get up and stand in front of the head table and kiss. The bride and groom have to copy whatever their guests did...everything!
EVERYONE'S A COMEDIAN
A guest has to go up to the microphone and tell a clean joke. If you are having an "Adult" reception, the choice is yours whether you want to allow any joke. You might put a "no swearing" rule in though.
GO FLY A PLANE
People make their own paper airplanes and then they have to sail them across the room and land on a certain spot (perhaps on the head table or another target!). If they succeed, the bride & groom will oblige them with a kiss!!!
HULA-HOOP
Leave a hula-hoop in the middle of the dance floor. The guest must hula using his waist and the couple has to kiss for as long as the hula is spinning!
POET AND DIDN'T KNOW IT
Place a paper and pen at each table. Each table has to write a love poem, then come up to the podium to read it. Make sure that the poems are collected immediately after they have been read. Your MC or the wedding party member sitting closest to the podium could have that job.
SING A SONG WITH THE WORD "LOVE" IN IT
A whole table stands up and starts singing. When they finish serenading you, time to kiss.
WEDDING ADVICE
Have your guests come up to the microphone and give a piece of wedding advice. The better the advice, the better the kiss.
BRIDE & GROOM TRIVIA
On cards or small pieces of paper, write out a bunch of question that have to do with the bride and groom and place them in a bag or box. If the question is answered correctly, the bride and groom kiss. If the question is answered incorrectly, you have 2 options: no kisses and the guest takes his seat or you penalize him by getting him to do something.
A - you could keep the questions on the podium and any guest can grab the microphone to read the question and answer it. B - you could keep the container on the head table, the guest would walk up and pick a question but the MC would read it. C - A table could just yell, "TRIVIA!" and your MC would ask that table the question.
SAMPLE TRIVIA QUESTIONS
* What is the bride's and/or groom's middle name
* Where did the bride and groom meet?
* How many people are at this wedding
* On what date did the bride and groom get engaged?
* Where are the bride & groom honeymooning?
* What is the bride's Dad’s name?
* Where does the couple live?
* How many pets do they have?
* Where did they meet?
* How many inches taller than the bride is the groom?(or vice versa)
* Where was the engagement ring bought?
* As of today, how many years have they been together?
* What was the first ‘change’ the bride made in the groom's life?
* Where did the groom go to High School?
* Which of the guests (not a family member) has the groom known the
longest?
THEME-WEDDING KISSING GAME IDEAS
Christmas Theme Weddings:
Have your guests get up and sing a song and make lyrics to, “On the first day of marriage, my true love gave to me…”
Choose any Christmas song and change the words to reflect on the wedding day. For example: “We wish you a merry wedding…and a happy honeymoon”
Have small boxes wrapped in Christmas paper on each table. Inside is an action that the guest or table must perform. For example, sing a Christmas carol, give wedding advice, show the bride and groom how to kiss, answer a trivia question, etc. If they succeed, the bride and groom will kiss, if they fail, the MC chooses who the guest must kiss.
Guests come up and say what they want for Christmas from “Santa”!
Halloween Theme Weddings:
Instead of “Trick or Treat”, the guest must do a trick in order for the bride and groom to kiss, this is their treat!
Jack-o-Lantern! Have 5 or so small pumpkins already gutted and carving knives on the table. If the guest can carve a Jack-o-Lantern face into the pumpkin in the allotted time, the bride and groom must kiss. If not, the MC chooses who the guest must kiss… and they have to take their pumpkin home!
Have a Halloween Costume setup in the middle of the dance floor. If a guest is daring enough to try, then they must come up and attempt to put on the costume in an allotted amount of time. If they succeed, the bride and groom will kiss, if they fail, the MC chooses who the guest must kiss.
Thanksgiving Theme Ideas:
Come up to the microphone and say something you are thankful for.
Medieval Wedding:
Make up a poem in “Shakespearian” Speech and read it to the crowd.
Easter Theme:
Place small Easter Eggs containers in the centerpieces on the table. Inside the egg will be a trivia question about the bride and groom. If the guest or table gets it right then the bride and groom have to kiss, if not, the gust must kiss someone that the bride and groom choose for them!
New Kissing Game Ideas:
Sing a TV theme (ex. Gilligan’s Island theme)
Put couples names in a jar. Someone will go up and draw a name, and that couple has to show the bride and groom how to kiss (much like the copycat game).
Name that Tune! Get the DJ involved… someone will volunteer, the DJ will play part of a song and the guest has to Name that Tune. If they get it right, the bride and groom will kiss. If they get it wrong, that guest has to kiss someone!
Come up with a David Letterman’s Top 10 List. Each list much have a wedding/couple theme such as Top 10 Reasons the couple is made for each other or Top 10 Things to do on their wedding night.
Charades- have a jar with things to act out. A guest will pull out a piece of paper and act out what is on the card. The bride and groom will kiss ONLY if the crowd is able to guess it!
Kiss Rating- when guests clink their glasses for the bride and groom to kiss, the wedding party will hold up rating cards (1-10) and rate the kiss.
Setup a bulls eye on the wall and get guests to throw a Nerf Football or something similar. If they hit the bulls eye, the bride and groom will kiss!
Have a big container full of corks, some with red wine on the ends (used), some new, one or two marked black. The bucket goes around the room and whoever wants to choose a cork can. Pick a red cork, bride and groom kiss, pick an unused cork, kiss your own date, get the black cork, everybody kisses their dates or whoever is close by!
PLINKO & KISS
Drop the Plinko Chip down the board and watch where it lands. Hearts mean the Bride and Groom Kiss, if it lands on a 1,2, or 3 the person dropping the Plinko must perform a deed - such as kissing the person on their left/right, kiss the oldest person at their table, or any other rule you may want to have.
